three hundred and sixty five.

Holy Guacamole. Uhm. So. I DID IT!!!
I made it through all of 2011 creating something at least once a day.
I slacked on the blogging side of it, but certainly not on the creating side. I'm actually not sure how to react to having made it through a whole year- proud? excited? accomplished? happy? challenged to go another year? All of the above?

I can't properly explain this feeling but it's kind of wonderful and I'm so happy that I challenged myself to create - creating keeps me sane and happy, this year has been fantastic and so full of new experiences and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I want to thank everyone who supported me with this, I wouldn't have been able to keep motivated without you guys - even if the last few months were pretty un-blogged.

another halfassed update.

My "mugaphant", assignment to put together a shop type and an animal and create an icon for it. I chose coffee shop and elephant.

I'm going to try and post daily, or at least every couple of days now. Classes aren't as busy and are almost all done, so for the last month of 2011 I basically have nothing to do but CREATE :)

... since it has been over a month since I last posted, I'm thinking I might upload the last month's creations on flickr or something, and direct you there? Better than a super-crazy heavy-duty photo-post I'd say!!

Super sorry guys, school's been eating up my time, in all social, academic, etc. senses. I'll try to get back into the habit best I can? But keep in mind that I am creating nonetheless, especially now that I have mostly studio classes where I go to school to create!

I miss posting, so for now here's the work I'm most proud of in the past month!

update & NEW BLOG!¡!

I'm also SO behind on this! I've been drawing up a storm and really creating, every day, multiple times a day, I've been so inspired lately with art school and all of that. But on top of "all of that" comes a LOT of homework, a lot of organizing, and a lot to be done.
I'm super sorry for being so behind! I promise I'll be back wednesday at the latest (my day off! woo!)

In the mean time, I thought I'd share my latest project (which accounts for two days' worth of creations from last week!).  I am now introducing my brand new fashion/lifestyle/personal blog:

Of course, I'll still be running the potatoe (though I really apologize if I start posting EVEN more irregularly, kitty snooks works because timed posts work, but this blog is really a day by day thing)

two hundred and fourty three

All calculations and google searches point to it being the 243rd day of the year! I blame summer and it's lack of structure and calendar use for my failed calculations in previous posts...... :)

Sorry I haven't been posting, school orientation's been taking a priority in my life this week! However one of the orientation activities actually turned into a piece I'm quite proud of!

This school is going to be amazing. The more time I spend with the people I've been meeting, the more I spend time there, the more it makes me happy and excited, and if it's at all possible, it makes me more certain that I'm making the perfect decision in going to this school. It's a dream come true, really.

On to the creations for the past long little bit!

And of course, three new bracelets(three to the right)! Playing with beads and patterns.

This was my 'hero mask', made during a 3 hour orientation session. I chose to be inspired by my grandmother (literally my hero too! She once saved me from drowning when I was very little, the wonderful woman she was.) I have a lot of work dedicated to my grandmother, she was an artist as well and one of the biggest influences in my life, and I didn't even notice it until this past year or two.  This is one of my favourite pieces though, I feel it mixes my grandmother, myself, and my style all into one piece.

I'm probably missing a few days worth of drawings? I'll try to locate those and post them if I get the chance. Time to see if I can get back on track, and working another project coming up soon that I'll introduce eventually!

I've finally gotten around to posting these! Sorry for the delay. And my gosh I've completely lost track of what number day it is - I tried calculating and failed, so for now I'll just post that. Shhh.

Been doodling up a storm in my braaaand new sketchbook, which is always exciting! And I've been doing some friendship bracelets still.

Was doing sketches based off myself making faces in the mirror, practicing emotions!

*drools* I got one for school, being a design major generally implies the need for a computer that can withstand some good graphics and multiple programs being open. It's the most beautiful computer, in fact. I like to name my technology. So I shall name him Earl.
